We are now recruiting new members for our Race for the Cure Fundraising Committee. We are looking for individuals who have an interest in fundraising and resource solicitation for non-profits. We need volunteers to help us secure donations, sponsorship, and expo booth sales for our Race for the Cure which will be held on Sunday September 23, 218 at Fashion Island Newport Beach. This Fund Raising Committee will be a sub-committee of the race Leadership Committee and those involved will have the opportunity to work with the entire team who bring the Race to life each year.
This is a very exciting volunteer opportunity for those who are passionate about fighting breast cancer, the non-profit and fund development sector and the work we do at Susan G. Komen Orange County.
Training will be provided and much of the volunteer work may be done out of the office from home via phone and email. Fundraising Committee meetings will be held monthly and members are also invited to attend monthly Race Leadership Committee meetings. All meetings will be held at our office in Irvine after office hours.
Contact me at cspivak@komenoc.org or Ph: 714-957-9157 for more information.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Mission Statement
Our promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.
Description
Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement. Today, Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Race for the Cure, we have invested nearly $1 billion to fulfill our promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world. The Komen Orange County Affiliate has been making strides in our community since 1991. The Affiliate is proud to have raised nearly $15 million on behalf of the Komen promise.
