Hazel Dell Petco volunteers visit the store on their assigned day each week to provide enrichment and socialization for shelter cats available for adoption there. Volunteers also clean each cat's kennel, wiping down all surfaces, providing clean bedding, water & food. You may also answer questions from families considering adoption. You'll receive support from shelter staff and be encouraged to participate in an exclusive Facebook page where we share information and discuss each cat's care and behavior.
Volunteers are asked to commit to a single day each week for at least 6 months, visiting the store cats sometime during store open hours. There are typically 4 cats to care for on site.
Right now we have a Sunday shift available.

Founded in 1897, the Humane Society has a long tradition of caring for the animals of southwest Washington and surrounding areas. By working in collaboration with local veterinarians and animal rescue groups, the Humane Society and its partners in animal welfare look forward to a future where all companion animals will live in a loving home.
Through the work of our full-time and part-time staff, along with the assistance of more than 500 compassionate volunteers, the Humane Society for Southwest Washington offers an array of humane programs, including pet adoptions, community education, pet behavior advice, spay/neuter assistance and low-cost pet adoptions for seniors.
Through the generous support of local individuals, groups, and corporations, we are able to care for the thousands of orphaned animals we receive each year.
