Naper Settlement is a family-friendly outdoor history museum featuring 12 acres of learning and interactive opportunities for all ages. Volunteers play an essential role in inspiring and engaging thousands of visitors from all over the world. Volunteers founded the Naperville Heritage Society in 1969 and they remain the core of the Society’s mission. We welcome dynamic, lifelong learners who want to be a part of Naper Settlement’s volunteer corps.

History Connector volunteers engage with visitors and work with our staff on special hands-on activities, which include activity carts or public programs like Settlement Sundays, Camp Naper summer camp, Girl Scout programs and more. Connector volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Training for summer season begins with an informational meeting on Saturday, January 28th from 10-11:30 AM or Tuesday, January 31st from 7-8:30 PM. Attendance is required.

Connectors are needed for the summer season which runs from April through October. Volunteers can choose to work either two or four shifts, weekday or weekend. Each shift is 3½-hours. The museum's summer hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday from 1 PM to 4 PM.
