Compassionate, caring, empathetic people needed in the Emergency Department. Varying duties available, depending on the Chairman’s needs--such as: greet persons entering lobby to determine if they need treatment or other assistance (patient visitation, other hospital area services, general info, etc.); offer assistance to patients needing wheelchairs; answer desk and lobby phones; keep lobby area neat and orderly; be available to staff to carry out requests ranging from running errands, bringing patients in from lobby, taking items to lab, going to pharmacy, retrieving medical records, and getting wheelchairs for discharged patients. Lots to do while keeping a positive and cheerful attitude toward everyone.

The Auxiliary is for the purpose of promoting the welfare of Florida Hospital New Smyrna through ways approved by the Hospital CEO. We endeavor to bring comfort and hope to all who are in distress of mind and body. We use the privilege given us to help the aged, the ill, and the very young with generosity, with discretion and with gentleness.

Description

Active membership in the Auxiliary shall be open to persons who are inter­ested in Forida Hospital New Smyrna, who have made application for membership, who have paid dues as prescribed by the By-Laws, and whose application has been approved by the Membership Committee and Board of Directors. Active Membership shall be limited to persons who have been assigned and will per­form duties as required by the By-Laws.
