Mission Statement
The English Teacher Training College and its associated Bilingual Classroom Initiative (ABCi) is a not-for-profit Austrian College with a dual mission: Firstly, as a college, to provide a practical education in teacher training for trainees from the English-speaking world based solely on the candidate's academic merit. Secondly, as a charity outreach, to promote language learning, cultural exchange and foster understanding between English-speaking countries and Austria by bringing hundreds of teachers from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, America, Canada, New Zealand and Australia into Austrian classrooms to reach every child with a free English project by the year 2020.
Description
The English Teacher Training College, Vorchdorf Campus, is an Austrian NGO bringing together Austrian children and English native-speaking Student Teachers to form a bilingual learning environment by means of linguistic immersion, cultural exchange and foreign sports that promotes the use of English in Austrian classrooms and will provide every child in Austria with an English project day including elements of language, culture and sport by the year 2020. The College also aims to provide in-service CLIL training for all interested teachers in Austria, fair wages for our staff, and professional development for our trainees. The College encourages students to become supporting members of the association while fostering ties with government, community and business leaders.
