Woman volunteer supporting male patient

Heartland Hospice is looking for people who have a little extra time and a lot of heart!

We are a dedicated team that focuses on enhancing the quality of life by providing comfort care as well as spiritual, social and emotional support to patients in the final phase of a terminal illness.

Our program stresses human values that go beyond the physical needs of the patient and we strive to ensure that our patients spend their final days in dignity and comfort. Volunteers provide a supportive role only, no hands-on care is required. Heartland Hospice volunteers say that being involved with another person's hospice experience gives them a greater appreciation for life.

Every Heartland volunteer receives free and comprehensive training before being assigned a volunteer job generally in the patient's own home. There are also legal requirements including a a current drivers license, background checks, fingerprinting and TB tests.

Please bring your compassion and sense of humor.
