Her Place is an addiction recovery center for women in Huntington, WV (additional information follows). Her Place is in need of volunteers before November 17 th. To help with an evidence based 16 week curriculum that will begin in January 2015. This curriculum is aimed at bringing families back together and to help stop the cycle of addiction. On November 17 th and 18 th Her Place has training planned for 8 hours each day and is looking for 12 facilitators/instructors to be trained on these days to provide the curriculum mentioned above. It is planned to provide this curriculum three times a year. As with all programs there are additional needs for 4 volunteers to set up, serve food and clean up after eating, and 4 volunteers to supervise and watch children. Make a Difference in Your Community!
RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
