The Putting Rare Diseases Patients First! organization is a 501(c)(3) non profit. The organization provides education about the clinical trial and drug development process to patients with rare diseases, and parents of sick children with rare diseases. This education is provided online via the internet using WEBEX as a tool. The PRDPF! organization is now seeking volunteer Board members. The Board members should have a link to the rare diseases space, and be passionate about serving the needs of this community, or have a rare disease or be parents of children with rare diseases.

PRDPF! Board of Director volunteer positions are as follows:

- VP of Fund Raising - must have experience raising funds for non profits

- VP of Pharma and Biotech Liaison - must currently work within the pharmaceutical or biotech space and have experience working in the area of rare diseases drug development

Physician Liaison - for PharmDs and Physicians with experience in rare diseases

Vice President of Patient Liaison - this person must have experience in rare diseases, and be connected to rare disease patient foundations

Committee members are needed to assist the VPs in managing their programs. These activities will be on your own time. As you serve the rare disease patient community, you will derive a great deal of personal satisfaction.

Mission Statement

To speed new medicines to patients.

Description

The Drug Development Boot Camp provides a total immersion training to new drug developers. It lasts two days and takes place in Boston once a year. This year it will take place on 19-20 November 2014.

Six to eight volunteers are needed to help with the smooth running of the meeting. Activities include handing microphones to speakers, responding to participant questions, etc. Training will be provided. Volunteers with Toastmasters training are preferred, although this is not essential. Confidence and an outgoing personality are necessary.
