ORGANIZATION: American Lung Association in Missouri

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 12 people are interested

The American Lung Association (ALA) is in search of volunteers to serve at health fairs that we are asked to attend in the community. The role of a health fair volunteer typically involves the following responsibilities:

  • Pick up the health fair materials for our table at the American Lung Association before the health fair
  • Set up the health fair table at the event
  • Run the health fair table: greet people, answer questions, give out informational brochures, give out giveaways
  • Put away the health fair materials
  • Return the health fair materials to the American Lung Association office after the event

Serving at health fairs is a wonderful way to help people in the community learn more about lung health, quitting smoking, and clean air initiatives. In order to volunteer for any of these events, you must first attend a short orientation/training at the American Lung Association office. All American Lung Association volunteers must be non-users of any type of tobacco product.

Most of these opportunities are on the weekends or in the evenings.
