We are located right next to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville - in the heart of Virginia's wine-producing country. We are surrounded by much of America's early history: four of America's first five presidents lived near here.

The nearby Blue Ridge Mountains offer many beautiful walks and hiking trails for you to explore. In the city, there are wonderful concerts, theaters and cinemas, hundreds of great restaurants and coffee houses. Charlottesville is one of the best small cities in America: and in just a few minutes, you can be in the forest, by a river or on top of a mountain!

Charlottesville is 110 miles southwest of Washington DC. I often take our helpers there for visits as well as trips to the mountains, the beach and anywhere else you might enjoy.

In the gardens, we grow many kinds of fruit and vegetables. I also create beautiful garden areas to relax, so we often do landscaping, as well as maintenance and improvement of our house and small building projects. I run a family real-estate business and a non-profit foundation. I would like to have your help 4-5 hours a day, usually in the mornings.

I also enjoy good conversation (especially on international issues and current events), relaxing in aour peaceful gardens and helping you in any way possible. I like to have fun and enjoy life. I am originally from England, but I have been in the US for many years. I am a single Dad. I need help here because my family is grown and they have their own lives.

Our helpers are often gap-year students, usually guys 18-30. We will occasionally take helpers who are just under 18. If you have a desire to explore and a sense of fun and adventure, we would love to have you here! We prefer non-smokers. We hope you will be honest, kind and compassionate - and with a good sense of humor. It also helps if you know the basics of gardening. If you also like meeting people and perhaps some travel around our state and beyond, this is for you.

Of course, we will care for your needs. Our home is relaxed, happy and peaceful. Hopefully, it will be a warm, encouraging haven for you to enjoy yourself. Our goal is to fill each day with useful work, wonderful, wholesome food, good conversation, plenty of good sleep, as you are surrounded by a sense of fun and love.

We have high-speed Wi-Fi, good laundry facilities and anything else you might need. We have been blessed to have some awesome helpers, many of whom return for another visit. Perhaps you will be one too. We want you to be part of the family. Please email me at steve (at) radiosteve.org if you're interested.
