Looking for a company/volunteer team interested in an feel good event that delivers tremendous employee engagement, community service, and the ultimate team-bonding experience.
- This is a fun opportunity for volunteers this Spring (May/June 2019 - exact date TBD).
- We will set up a 3-hour turn-key program to clean plastic toys that have been collected throughout the year by the local Montgomery Township, NJ recycling center (as well as other locations in NJ).
- Depending on the number of toys collected, our events usually accommodate 20-30 volunteers.
- We arrange for the complete set-up which includes tables, cleaning supplies and large plastic garbage bags for packaging and transporting the toys.
- Once volunteers have prepared the toys, we arrange for 1-800-GOT-JUNK? trucks to be on hand to load up the toys.
- We handle all logistics and arrange for deliveries to local organizations that have been designated to receive the toys.
- With volunteer support, this turn-key program allows for clean and good-as-new toys to be put in the hands of disadvantaged children in nearby communities the very same day!!
By volunteering with SCT, you will have the opportunity to be part of an award-winning mission that is helping disadvantaged children and the environment.

About Second Chance Toys
Location:
PO Box 20462, New York, NY 10023, US
Mission Statement
To keep plastic toys our of the landfills by donating them to children in need.
Description
Given the nature of plastic, toys often show little signs of wear. When these "good-as-new" toys are thrown out, they become waste in a landfill, take up a lot of space, and do not biodegrade. Hand in hand with this wastefulness is the fact that many children in the United States own few or no toys at all.
Second Chance Toys provides a waste-need solution to these problems. Twice yearly, unwanted plastic toys are rescued and donated to organizations that care for children in need. The toys can enhance a child’s development by helping promote socialization, creativity, emotional security, motor skills, and learning.
