Athletes For Kids aims to develop communities where kids of all abilities are celebrated. Join the Athletes for Kids outreach team, and get trained on all of the great things that Athletes for Kids does here in Eastside Seattle! Help host tables at community events and talk to interested people about our work, our kids, our programs, upcoming opportunities, and ways for the community to get involved. This is a flexible, project based role that can be tackled in our offices in Sammamish or off-site.

About Athletes for Kids
Location:
3020 Issaquah Pine Lake Rd SE # 254, Sammamish, WA 98075, US
Mission Statement
Our mission is to enhance the lives of children who have disabilities and special needs and the high school athletes who mentor them. We believe that modeling acceptance, inclusion, and respect of all individuals transforms and strengthens our communities.
Description
Athletes For Kids is a youth mentoring program that serves children in 1st-12th grades who have special needs and disabilities of all kinds. We carefully match each child with a qualified high school athlete, who commits to mentoring a child for one to three years. Once a mentorship is formed, the pair meets two to four times a month.
Founded on the idea that friendship has the power to restore a child’s faith in life, we were incorporated as a nonprofit in 2002. Since that time, we have grown from a small group at one school to an organization serving families in Issaquah, Sammamish, Bellevue, Newcastle, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond, Renton, Woodinville and surrounding areas. We now serve 417 youth annually, and have served over 2,500 youth since our founding.
