Children need someone to trust, someone to show them they have value, someone who cares. Being a mentor to a child guarantees that at least one person cares about that child's well-being and wants to see that child succeed!
WILL YOU BE THAT PERSON FOR A CHILD?
Volunteer to be a mentor for a Tulsa area youth.
Volunteers ages 21 and older receive 15+ hours of free training prior to being matched with a mentee. Mentors and mentees meet for 1-2 hours a week for one year. Both the mentor and the mentee receive a free YMCA membership for the duration of the match.
Children matched with a mentor are showing improvement in school behavior and performance, family relationships, and social responsibility. Youth are FIVE times more likely to graduate if they have a meaningful relationship with an adult. Kids who have mentors are nearly 50% less likely to use drugs.
Change a life-become a mentor!
