We're looking for a person to take our regional environmental events calendar to the next level. Our popular calendar connects thousands of residents to nature-related hikes, classes, and gatherings throughout the Bay Area, both virtual and in-person! You'll find and add new guided hikes, walks, and events sponsored by Bay Area wildlife and environmental organizations, keeping the events calendar fresh and up-to-date. Visit baynature.org/events to view our calendar.

Familiarity with Wordpress and/or Photoshop is preferable but not required. This is currently a remote opportunity.

Bay Nature is an independent nonprofit with a beautiful quarterly magazine and website that connect the people of the San Francisco Bay Area to our natural world, motivating people to solve problems with nature in mind. Our writers, photographers and artists cover science and nature, conservation, and recreation; our vision is that all people have a close relationship with nature.

About Bay Nature Institute

Mission Statement

The Bay Nature Institute, based in Berkeley, California, inspires people through media and personal experience to explore and protect the diverse and beautiful natural world of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Description

Bay Nature is a quarterly magazine dedicated to the intelligent and joyful exploration of the natural places, plants, and wildlife of the San Francisco Bay Area. It contains writing, photography, art, and cartography about the natural history of the land and waters of the nine counties ringing the Bay, as well as significant nearby areas (such as the Delta and Monterey Bay).

Neither scientific journal nor travel guide, Bay Nature's aim is to foster a deeper connection between the Bay Area's residents and our surrounding landscapes. We do this by examining local nature from a variety of angles and in a wide range of voices, in a manner that is both accessible and intelligent, serious and playful. We see Bay Nature as a forum that brings together the local environmental, literary, artistic, and political communities, and serves the shared goal of conserving and restoring our natural heritage.
