Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing

Come volunteer with YEAH! (Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing), Berkeley's only shelter for transitional age youth (18-25). We assist young people who are currently homeless by providing basic relief from the stress of living on the street. We are also dedicated to co-creating a community of mutual support and respect.

You may volunteer by cooking dinner (6:00 to 8:00pm), serving dinner (7:45 to 10:15pm), running the shower schedule (8:30 to 10:15pm), and/or cooking and serving breakfast (6:30 to 8:30am). These are all great ways to get to know your community - both fellow volunteers and the youth we serve. The community at YEAH! seeks to transform and change the lives of everyone in our community, including the volunteers and staff.

The YEAH! shelter will open this year on Monday, November 10th, and we will stay open for seven months, ending in the middle of June. We are looking for folks who can volunteer on a consistent basis - preferably once a week for serving and at least once a month for cooking.
