We are looking for additional transport drivers who can pick up animals from other shelters and rescues and transport them back to one of our locations in the Bay Area, or help take animals to vet appointments. Typical transport needs are within the greater Bay Area, with occasional longer distance needs from the Sacramento Area, Santa Cruz to Monterey area or as far as the Los Angeles area. Transport can be a great way to volunteer without committing to a regular gig or fostering animals in your home. If you are interested in becoming a driver for our rescue please, send us an e-mail with information on where you are located, and what distance you are able to travel.

Mission Statement
North Star Rescue's mission is to assist with the rescue and placement of at risk pet rodents in California shelters and to provide education on proper care to help benefit pet rodents everywhere.
Description
North Star Rescue is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization based in the San Francisco Bay Area dedicated to the welfare of small companion animals. We are the only rescue organization in the San Francisco Bay Area specifically dedicated to all species of pet rodents. North Star Rescue provides a variety of services to help small companion animals, including: Rescue and Foster Services for California Shelters, Public Adoptions of Small Animals, Behavioral Advice, Educational Events and More. Unlike a traditional shelter, North Star Rescue has no central location. We are a network of foster homes run by dedicated volunteers who have united under the common goal of keeping small animals from being euthanized when they have nowhere else to go.
