Surveyors attend training and then spend the morning riding around the County rating the amount of litter they see using a 1 to 4 litter index scale. Surveys are conducted on a quarterly basis and lunch is provided. The survey results are used by KPWB, Prince William County government, and national litter organizations to determine the cost of littering to the environment .
Lunch is included.

Keep Prince William Beautiful is a 501(c)(3) environmental organization that serves Prince William County through partnering with residents, businesses, community organizations and the government to educate and inspire environmental stewards who, through locally informed action, actively work to reduce litter waste, increase recycling, and broaden environmental education throughout the County.

We offer multiple programs that offer a variety of volunteer opportunities involving litter removal and prevention, recycling practices, community beautification, and environmental education.
