Job Summary:
To greet, welcome and direct visitors appropriately. To notify agency personnel of visitor arrivals. The receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, directing calls to appropriate staff member, as well as additional clerical duties
Primary Duties:
- Answers phones and directs caller to the appropriate staff member. (Which maybe voice mail when the associate is unavailable)
- Greets and directs visitors to agency
- Takes and retrieves messages for various staff members
- Provides callers with information; such as address, directions to our location, the fax number, website, Prevention depts. testing hours, and other related information
- Maintains security by following procedures: monitoring visitor logbook
- Assists with other related clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing and filing
- Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures and rules
- Contributes to team effort by assisting staff members, especially Prevention Dept.
- Other related duties as assigned by [Supervisor]
Position Requirements:
- Flexibility
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills
- Demonstrated cultural competence in working with people of color and the LGBTQ community as well as experience and knowledge working with those affected by HIV/AIDS
