Do you KNOW cats? Would you like to help them and their caregivers? We are looking for volunteers who are able to advise the Santa Clara County community about the resources available for cat care (spay/neuter surgery, caring for kittens, etc). Our cat help volunteer agent connects requesters with hands-on rescuers and provides advice to resolve cat/human interactions.

About Cat Resource Center

Location:

N/A, Santa Clara, CA 95051, US

Mission Statement

To support private and public efforts to improve the quality of life for all cats and to reduce/eliminate the killing of homeless cats.

Description

A. Decrease homelessness by increasing the number of spayed and neutered animals in both the pet and feral communities. Strengthen existing pet homes through information and education (website and educational classes). Improve likelihood of reuniting lost pets with guardians by encouraging microchipping. Increase the number of adoptions by increasing venues and providing convenient and innovative access to the animals.

B. Support free-roaming cats. The Cat Resource Center will solicit food donations, and set up a central distribution point for food. We will also support Trap-Neuter-Return activities, coordinate volunteer support, and hold public educational classes on colony management.

C. Liaison between government, animal control, and local animal shelters and rescue groups. Dealing with the government allows rescuers to focus on the animals.

D. Strengthen resources by building and improving existing volunteer programs, developing fundraising capabilities and increasing efficiency and effectiveness of shelter and rescue group operations Attract volunteers with specific expertise who may not be interested in fieldwork. Train volunteers.

E. Raise awareness by educating consumers on the issues and repercussions surrounding homeless animals and increasing awareness of homeless animals and the organizations that care for them.
