Seasoned Volunteers are ready to train

At Methodist Rehabilitation Center, our dedicated volunteers are an essential part of our team. Each day, they visit with patients/residents and work closely with the staff in departments throughout the hospital, the long term care facility and clinics to provide much-needed services.

We have an immediate need for volunteers to assist in the MRC Gift Shop. 100% of profits from the gift shop are donated to the Wilson Research Foundation at Methodist Rehabilitation Center to fund research for brain injury, spinal injury and stroke. Since 2000, over $200,000.00 ha been donated to the Wilson Research Foundation on behalf of the volunteers at Methodist Rehabilitation Center and their dedication to volunteering in the MRC Gift Shop.

Role and Responsibilitiesinclude but not limited to:

  • Assit customers with merchandise
  • Answer questions
  • Ring sales and process payroll deduction (as requested)
  • Help open, check and price new merchandise
  • Help prepare new displays
  • Keep shop neat and clean Assist with Inventory
  • Assist with displaying merchandise

Since Jan ... uary 2015, over 17,000 hours of service has been donated to MRC and its affiliates by the dedicated volunteers. Over the past 15 years, The MRC Gift Shop has donated a total of $190,000 to the Wilson Foundation. Funds provided are being invested in research studies to determine the best ways to help patients restore abilities, as well as purchase advanced therapy and diagnostic equipment.

Description

The purpose of the Volunteer Services Department is to provide groups of trained volunteers to assist Methodist Rehabilitation Center and its patients. Volunteers will be used to provide services, which support the MRC mission. Volunteers are not to be used to take the place of employees of Methodist Rehabilitation Center.
