THE BRAILLE GROUP OF BUFFALO needs volunteers to transcribe print into Braille for blind children and adults. We will train you! Classes begin Thursday January 9th 2020. The course will consist of one lesson a week each Thursday 10 am to 12:30 pm, and will train you to become a US Library of Congress certified Braille transcriber. Class runs through June.

We have been Brailleing for WNY Braille readers for 63 years. Help us provide Braille books and materials for students and adult Braille readers. When you have certification - you will Braille on your computer in your own home.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 20
  • Thursday 2 1/2 hours classes each week and 10 hours/week practice and homework at your home.
  • You must have completed High School or have passed the GED. Three quarters of the way through the course you will be brailling on your own computer. The computer must be a PC rather than a MAC.
