-Position Title: Office Assistant / Help Desk

Position Description: The Office Assistant will perform a variety of tasks depending on project deadlines in the Florida Association of Nonprofits office. This will include answering phones and other administrative tasks as assigned by the CEO. This position helps to extend the resources in the organization to better assist and direct the needs of our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Answering phones

* Data entry

* Filing

* Maintenance of office space

* Other duties specifically around coordination of special events, or as assigned

Requirements

  • Must present a professional and a friendly demeanor
  • Must be dependable and punctual
  • Be courteous and personable when dealing with the public
  • Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality of Florida Association of Nonprofits volunteers, partners, and donors
  • Computer skills are desired.

Time Commitment (for a minimum of three months)

  • Tuesday and Thursday for two hours (1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m.)
  • Wednesday for three hours (9:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.)
  • Friday: morning (10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.) or afternoon (1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.)

-Position Title: Communications / Development Assistant Volunteer

Position Description: Communications and Development Assistant works with Florida Association of Nonprofits staff developing communications and helping to plan and execute events and programs. She/he helps to promote Florida Associations of Nonprofits events by obtaining media contact information, updating mailing lists and creating press releases. Duties will be approximately 70% project oriented and 30% clerical. Clerical duties include working with organizational database, mailings to members, and general assistance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Call lists of media contacts to obtain updated information
  • Update media contact information into Outlook databases as needed
  • Assist with large mailings as needed
  • Create press releases and sending to media contacts
  • Research, creates and promote events to members and to the community
  • Assist with soliciting items for silent auction

Requirements

  • Excels at planning, organizing, and prioritizing
  • Demonstrates solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Adapts adroitly to changing circumstances
  • Exhibits energy and enthusiasm and an interest in working in the nonprofit sector

Time Commitment (for a minimum of three months)

  • Tuesday and Thursday for two hours (2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.)
  • Wednesday for two hours (10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.)
  • Friday: morning (10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.)
