About

The Telephone Reassurance program is an opportunity to give back to your community from the comfort of your own home with minimal time commitment and effort enables seniors to continue living independently in the community with the assurance that assistance will be available should an accident or other medical emergency occur.Telephone Reassurance clients receive a daily "check-in" call from a designated volunteer or Automated Alert System Call. If no contact is made, the volunteer then notifies the Telephone Reassurance Coordinator who initiates emergency procedures with assistance from local law enforcement and medical services as needed. The daily contact decreases the level of isolation felt by the client and often results in a long lasting friendship between the client and the volunteer. Additional referrals and services are offered to many clients through coordination. Benefits, Telephone Reassurance Volunteers make connections with other adults and know they are making significant contributions to their lives.
