The 99 Unite Civic Forum/Friends of Occupy Portland Autumn Harvest Gala will be the largest fundraising event of the year, and a part of the Fourth Year Forward series of events commemorating the three years of our movement.

The event features a celebratory dinner, live entertainment, and silent auction.

We need a minimum of 10 volunteers before, during, and after this event (Saturday evening, November 8).

The event will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Set-up will begin around 3 p.m., and clean up may continue through 10 p.m. The location is a private residence near Lloyd Center and Rose Quarter, between N. Williams Avenue and NE Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, within a close proximity of TriMet bus lines 4, 6, 17, 44 and 77, as well as Portland Streetcar CL line at the Walgreens.

Set-up: table set up; seating arrangement; audiovisual set up (if requested by our guest featured speaker); welcoming area set up; food and beverages prep

During event: Welcoming area (ticket collection/will-call); food service; music (live or recorded); assisting the guest speaker; general tidy-ups as needed

Clean-up: dishes; dining area clean-up; sweep the floor; trash and recycling; put the furniture back to default positions

Description

Friends of Occupy Portland (FOOP), established in April 2012, provides support and facilitates exchange of information for start-up local community organizing efforts and political activists, continuing the legacy of the Occupy Wall Street movement as manifested in Portland metropolitan area. FOOP also hosts a number of community groups, processes financial contributions for board-approved projects, and engages in community educational outreach by exhibiting in local festivals and events.

We are an Oregon public benefit non-profit corporation registered with the Oregon Department of Justice, Charitable Activities Division, under #45976.
