The Veterans Administration new 'Give Back' Program through Norfolk County RSVP is seeking volunteers age 55 plus , to be part of a dynamic team at the West Roxbury Campus inpatient Medical/Oncology ward.

Provide support to patients with cancer and other illnesses and their families as they learn about their disease and treatment options. Assist in identifying and accessing relevant resources while providing empathy, support and compassion.

Offer comfort items such as drinks, snacks and warm blankets to patients. Engage in friendly conversation and refer individuals to appropriate staff when specific medical, financial or personal issues arise.

PLEASE NOTE: This volunteer opportunity is available only to adults age 55 and older.

Norfolk County RSVP has volunteer opportunities for people aged 55 & over in 28 cities and towns at over 50 volunteer sites. Volunteer opportunities include mentoring pre-release inmates, tutoring elementary school children, drivers for Veterans, meals on wheels and food pantires, friendly visiting, non-profit support services and many more! N.C. RSVP will find the volunteer opportunity that best fits your interests & schedule and impacts the needs that are most critical to our county's communities. N.C. RSVP provides mileage reimbursement, accident & liability insurance, an invitation to our annual recognition event, monthly newsletters, orientation & training.
