LITA of CC has reduced our full in person board meetings to just 2 each year. We had our last 2017 meeting in November and plan our next meeting for January 20, 2018. LOVE IS THE ANSWER is a beloved public charity active since 1980 doing friendly visitor volunteer work with senior and disabled care facility residents. LITA needs to add Board members and increase annual income by $10,000 this year. If you havwe any of these skills , please contact LITA of CC: Strategic thinker connected to and experienced in federal or county block grants. Seeking any of these backgrounds: Successful Non profit Fundraiser
A Business development professional with finance and governance experience A Law professional dealing with estates and planned gifts A person with strong skill set, able to file forms and Handle money. A Pro bono Attorney to oversee compliance issues. A Professional in Healthcare field, to add credence to existing studies proving the very real improvements we bring to hundreds of seniors in care facilities.

"Love Is The Answer" LITA of Contra Costa (since 1980) involves community members of all ages, educating and supporting youth, students families and aspiring artsts to be Volunteers to fulfill our Mission to imporve qualiaty of life for senior & disabled persons living full time in nursing care as well as memory care and assisted living facilities in Contra Costa County.
Description
LITA of CC serves skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, primarily in Contra Costa County. LITA is non-sectarian. There is no charge for LITA volunteer services.
MUSIC AWAKENINGS: LITA has long supported the miracle of Music to enhance healing & joy. Volunteers program tablets and phones especially for an individual patient (who may have speech, sight or social disabilities) with access to of music and movies from their prime of life stimulate golden memories, reducing stress, insomnia , agitation depression and alleviating sundowning. Spontaneously singing along with beloved lyrics, patients have created new pathways torestore speech.
LITA of Contra Costa encourages Intergeneration Appreciation, with events and holiday or project visits for groups from preschool through High School and College. Family visits are also encouraged and supported within this Love Is The Answer volunteer program.
Arts Volunteers at all ages & levels of perfecting audio/visual, music, dance, acting, poetry and other performing & fine arts, share these gifts with seniors in continuing care. Our most popular LITA program, suspended during covid and still not back was Pet Visitors bringing gentle dogs, cats, turtles birds.
