LifeTown is a realistic indoor city where students with disabilites learn life skills. Volunteers, through role-play, help students with special needs learn important life skills. There are ten venues in the LifeTown Village and everything is REAL including the $12 students receive to spend in the village. The venues include: bank, movie theater, art studio, pet place, deli, library, medical office, bike rental, marketplace and salon.
Volunteering at LifeTown is super rewarding, fun and interactive!
Role-playing positions include banker, librarian, police officer, doctor, dentist, medical receptionist, and proprietors of the art studio, pet store, salon, deli, marketplace, movie theater.
You may request a specific position or simply sign up to serve where needed. 20 Volunteers are needed every week day in order to run LifeTown efficiently and effectively.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WILL BEGIN AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER 2017 AND RUN THROUGH MAY 2018. HOWEVER, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT US FOR MORE INFORMATION OR REGISTER AT THE LINK BELOW.
Students with special needs visit Mondays-Friday, 10 am-12 pm with exceptions to certain Holidays. The schedule is subject to change.
