The Audio-Reader Network, an audio information service for people with vision loss and other issues that prevent them from reading standard print, is recruiting readers to read southeast-area newspapers during a live broadcast, as well as prepare reading materials for readers. Those who meet the requirements will be assigned to a specific day of reading and focus their attention on local news articles. All readings are done from the Homer Cole Center in Pittsburg.

All volunteers must take and pass an audition, which consists of a 100 word pronunciation test and a series of reading samples. Your reading will be evaluated for smoothness, inflection, pronunciation, enunciation and voice quality.

Those interested in preparing reading materials do not need to audition.
