Tarrant Area Food Bank is partnering with Target to run Meals for Minds, a school pantry program that occurs monthly on the Northside of Fort Worth. Each student enrolled in the school is eligible to receive fresh food, including fresh produce and other nutritious items. Individuals and small groups of volunteers are needed from 12:45 - 4:30pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month through the school year to help unload and distribute food directly to families in need.

  • Volunteers must be 16 years or older
  • Background check required (for volunteers 18 yrs ) - this will be sent to you after registering to attend; must be completed and passed prior to your registered event
  • Training provided on the day of each event
  • Volunteers will be standing for the duration of the event and must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Each event is held outdoors or in the cafeteria during inclement weather.

Tarrant Area Food Bank distributes food to more than 300 partner agencies in a thirteen county service region. In the past year, TAFB distributed over 30 million pounds of food to neighbors in need. TAFB also offers complementary programs such as nutrition education, food stamp outreach, mobile food distribution, food for children and community gardens for children and adults of our member agencies.
