Interns will work with our Guest Services Department to help organize and promote the Elmwood Park Zoo. Individuals will gain experience in customer service, membership management, event preparation and execution, and public relations. They will work alongside a small group of highly skilled, helpful, and enthusiastic Guest Services employees. This position offers an opportunity to work one on one with zoo staff that specializes in various facets of hospitality and customer service. The EPZ’s internship program affords individuals a behind the scenes look of what it takes to manage a successful non-profit.
Requirements:
* 18+ years old
* Outgoing and energetic personality
* Good customer service skills
* Basic knowledge Microsoft Office Suite
* Reliable Transportation
* Hospitality Management, Non-Profit Management, Event Planning, or other related major
* Provide own laptop computer

Description
Elmwood Park Zoo was established in 1924 when a local farmer transferred 16 acres and a small menagerie to the Borough of Norristown. Today, the Zoo is owned and operated by the Norristown Zoological Society, a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster an appreciation of wildlife and their habitat that will inspire active participation in conservation. Under the Society’s careful management, Elmwood Park Zoo has attained the elite status as one of only 225 institutions accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
