PLACEMENT PURPOSE
The Home Fire Preparedness Campaign is an initiative to reduce death and injury caused by home fires in our communities. Team members will help their communities by installing fire detectors and distributing preparedness information to at risk communities.
OPEN TIME DAYS
The Home Fire Preparedness Team is comprised of 4 different positions:
HFPC Alarm Installer: This position helps to appropriately install new smoke alarms or batteries in working smoke alarms and test them. Time: 5 to 6 hours on a single weekend once a quarter
HFPC Safety Educator: This position helps review the safety checklist with the client, prepare a home fire escape plan, and review saftey hazards and preparedness tips. Time: 5 to 6 hours on a single weekend once a quarter
HFPC Documenter: This position helps to document the teams actions, detectors installed, batteries replaced, as well as getting appropriate release forms signed by client. Documenter will also hold ladder and assist installer. Time: 5 to 6 hours on a single weekend once a quarter
REQUIRED TRAINING- Disaster Services: An Overview (online)
- HFPC Guidance and Training: Safety for Home Visits, Smoke Alarm Installation, and other training (hands on)
