Volunteers of America Texas is in search of creative and upbeat individuals to lead an arts & crafts class for the women with the Mother and Infants Together (MINT) program at Avenue J, a residential re-entry center for men and women exiting the prison system. MINT provides care and support for pregnant women who are incarcerated
The Avenue J MINT Arts & Crafts Program Leader will be responsible for running an arts & crafts class for the clients in the MINT program. This includes providing the materials and supplies for crafts and for planning activities that are suitable for the women to do with their children. Volunteers will also need to provide some supplies.
This is an opportunity to have a positive impact on our clients and engage with them in a fun and relaxed environment. Volunteering in this capacity will help provide the women with activities that will encourage bonding with their children.
