Small Animal Foster Parents provide a temporary happy and healthy home to rabbits, guinea pigs, or rats rescued from Milwaukee Animal Control (MADACC) Small Animal Foster parents must be fully committed to the well-being and needs of the small animals in their care until adoption. A Small Animal Foster Parent's primary responsibility is to get them ready to be adopted into their forever homes by meeting the physical, mental, and health needs of the pet in their care. Small Animal Foster Parents and their animals must also be available to show to the public at meet n’ greets and/or events. Transport to vet appointments, spay/neuter appointment required. MPA Small Animal Foster Parents are supported by MPA volunteers and will be given the tools necessary to succeed.
Training: Application, background check, and home visit required.
Time Commitment: Complete. Small Animal Foster Parents must be fully committed and dedicated to the animals in their care until adoption.
Travel: Moderate. Required to transport foster animals in your care to veterinary appointments, etc.
