If you answered YES! to any of these questions you might want to consider being a volunteer with Interim Healthcare Hospice. Compassionate Volunteers are at the heart of our misson. Our volunteer program is flexible and works with your schedule.

Interim's Hospice Program is a compassionate, patient-centered approach to medical care and support for people at end-of-life and their families. It is based on a philosophy of improving the quality of life when quantity of time is limited. Interim's Hospice offices provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to patients and those who love and care for them.

There are several Volunteer positions available such as office and administrative, patient care, community education & support and volunteer recruitment support. We cover several counties including Sterling, Coke, Crockett, and more and have volunteer positions available in your local communities.

Volunteer hours are based on the volunteer position and can vary depending on each patient.

We are looking for compassionate and responsible students, professionals, teens, veterans, and anyone who is willing to share their talents with Hospice patients.

Interim Healthcare Hospice provides all training required to prepare our volunteers. This includes but is not limited to background and criminal history checks, drug screenings, TB testing, personal references, education on infection control, patient rights, HIPAA, abuse and neglect and hospice fundamentals.

Description

Being a hospice volunteer is an intensely rewarding experience. Volunteers are required to complete a pre-training interview and orientation class. Hospice is a special kind of palliative care focusing on relief of pain, symptom control, spiritual and emotional support. The majority of hospice care takes place in the home, where the person can be surrounded by family and familiar settings. At Interim Hospice we offer a team-oriented approach to care. This team which includes hospice volunteers, provides the support needed to ensure patients are maintaining the highest quality of life possible and the needs of both the patient and family are being met.
