Can you keep a secret? 85% of Chicago Public School children received free or reduced-price lunch each year. Studies showed that free meals were made available to children from families with incomes below 130% of the federal poverty line; and students whose household income was up to 185% of the poverty line received reduced-price meals. Even more interestingly, forty-eight percent of all children in US public schools, from preschool to 12th grade, now meet one or more of these stipulations.

Alley Program wants to help Chicago children feel their best when they enter the classroom. No one needs to know that their family has fallen on hard times, and with your assistance, we can help them maintain their secret. We can’t provide the suit, but we can make sure that these students are well-suited for success. All we need from you is a day or two out of your week to call Chicago Schools, Salons, and Barbershops to find out if they would be willing to donate their space for our cause once a month.

And the best part about this position is that you can do it from the comfort of your own home. The only downside is that the outreach needs to be done during daytime hours when schools are in session, and you’ll work with an extra kind supervisor.
