Do you love dogs? Do you love helping homeless dogs?
Then we need your help. CHR is a small-dog rescue. We take in neglected and homeless dogs needing immediate foster homes.
We pay for all vetting and supplies. You just supply a loving home for the foster dog. We'll provide training and any other support you need.
Caring Hearts Rescue treats every dog in their rescue like they are the ONLY dog in the rescue. It's a priority to CHR to rehabilitate the rescue dogs we save. This often means a longer term stay in the foster parent's home. We are looking for foster parents willing to commit to a minimum of 6 months to a year of fostering a dog. We often take in fearful and senior dogs, which may make the foster term stay longer. Contact us to discuss fostering or please spread the word that we need fosters!

Mission Statement
Caring Hearts Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization based in Fairfax County, VA that rescues and finds homes for abandoned or homeless dogs with an emphasis on small-breed dogs. We do not have a physical shelter. All of our rescued dogs are in foster homes in the VA, DC and Maryland area. In addition to finding loving forever homes for dogs, we also educate dog owners and the community about about positive dog training techniques in an effort to decrease the number of dog owners who choose to give up their pets due to behavioral problems.

How Our Rescue Works
Rescue
Our volunteers rescue small breed dogs from desperate situations including neglect, puppy mill rescue, owner surrender, and euthanasia by animal shelters due to overpopulation. Most of our rescued dogs come from the DC metro area, although a few have come from rural parts of Virginia or Maryland.
