Junior Achievement is looking for companies that encourage volunteerism in their workplace. JA Programs work with and train volunteers to go into classrooms, K-12, to guide students through one of our programs by helping them to understand the importance of education and business; to encourage students to stay in school; and to stimulate interest in careers and business with hands on activities. The time involved is typically one hour per week for 5 to 8 weeks in the classroom with the teacher as a facilitator. The lessons and all materials are provided. The Team Building benefits of a group of employees is a very effective and rewarding way to help your local community.

JA BizTown Mobile Volunteers:
After up to 16 hours of in-class curriculum, students put their new knowledge to the test during a culminating simulation. As a volunteer, you will guide students as they become adults for a day, running JA BizTown as its consumers and citizens, with job duties and bank accounts to manage. One volunteer per storefront (9-11) is ideal.
JA BizTown Mobile Volunteer "Day of Visit" Tips:
-All volunteers must arrive at the school at the time stated on the schedule below for up to 45-minute training.
-Volunteers should bring a bagged lunch and snacks for the day.
-Volunteers should wear comfortable shoes.
-Students have been prepared for this big day but it's extra-exciting to be an "adult for the day!"
-Make sure the students follow their lunch and break schedules.
-Help the students clean up their assigned storefront.
-Students will only be dismissed from school by the school’s administration.
