A Matter of Balance is an award-wining program designed for older adults to manage falls and increase activity levels. Two training coaches guide participants throguh learning and activities that emphasize strategies to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity among older adults.
Become a Matter of Balance Coach.
Workshops are offered statewide through the Juniper network--a centralized hub of community providers delivering evidence-based programs to help people manage chronic health conditions, improve balance and prevent falls, and foster well-being. Evidence-based programs are those that are developed and verified by researchers.
Register now to get your training as a Matter of Balance coach. Space is limited in the Matter of Balance coach training class.
Once trained you and a partner coach can lead an 8-week structured workshop in your community; you can determine your schedule for when to facilitate a workshop.

Cost of the training is $50. There are limited scholarships available upon request.

Mission Statement
The mission is to support successful aging in the Arrowhead region of Northeastern Minnesota. The goal of the Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA) is to be a catalyst in building communities where seniors live with dignity, mutual respect and shared responsibilities across generations and cultures. Our three primary functions are to: link people to information, services and support through the Senior LinkAge Line; promote health for older adults and family caregivers; and assist local communities and organizations to develop and sustain services. The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging is a division of the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC). ARDC is a regional planning and development agency serving the counties of Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, and St. Louis in Northeast Minnesota.
Description
Our organization provides free, one-on-one assistance to people with Medicare and their families via telephone and face-to-face sessions, public education presentations, and other programs. We work directly with people on their Medicare questions. We can help them better understand their Medicare plans, their prescription drug plan options, and help them find services for Medicare Consumers in their community.
