About

Coaches are needed to teach this course; are you willing to do become one soon?

The Matter of Balance program helps participants learn to view falls and the fear of falling as controllable, to set realistic goals for increasing activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and to promote exercise to increase strength and balance.

Matter of Balance Coaches are needed to work with seniors in your community. Our next two-day training class for Coaches will be in early 2017. We are taking applications now. This training will be held in Duluth, MN however you will volunteer in your own community.

The Matter of Balance program is designed to benefit adults who are concerned about falls, have fallen in the past, have restricted activities due to the fear of falling, and are age 60 or older.

Coaches are needed to teach this course, which runs eight weeks for two hours per session. People interested in volunteering to become a coach will receive 8 hours of classroom learning and direct experience with strengthening exercises.

Registration is limited to 12 potential coaches. For a registration packet or to learn more about A Matter of Balance please contact our Evidence Based Health Program Coordinator, Katey Fornear at 218-529-7531, kfornear@ardc.org.
