About

The YWCA of San Gabriel Valley is looking for an internship candidate to join our Development team! The ideal candidate should have strong interest in nonprofit development work, be reliable, punctual, professional, have a positive attitude, and a great sense of humor. Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who values our mission and who will be working with us long-term, with the availability of at least 6 hours per week.

Candidates will not be considered without resume/CV and detailed cover letter detailing (a)why you are an excellent internship candidate, (b)your experience with nonprofit development, and (c)what you would like to learn within development. Email to rosegonzalez@ywcasgv.org.

Responsibilities Include:

- Create, update and maintain entries in donor database

- Draft program-specific correspondence

- Assist with content of newsletters, annual reports, brochures, flyers and handouts

- Grant research and writing

- Assist with direct mail fundraisers

- Research and develop sponsorship/volunteer opportunities for local businesses

- Help coordinate and execute our Special Events

- Photograph internal events and post to social media

- Provide additional miscellaneous general administrative support within the department, as needed

Requirements Include:

- Ability to operate standard office equipment (fax, photocopier, etc.)
- Impeccable writing and grammar

- Excellent computer skills coupled with the ability to gather and compile internet research results, information & data
- Outstanding attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills

- Experience with social media updates, website maintenance a plus
