May we count on you to become a Senior LinkAge Line volunteer counselor in the Moose Lake, MN area of Minnesota and help people with their Medicare questions?

We are looking for two volunteers who are willing to become trained Medicare counselors. Our next volunteer training class will be held in early 2021. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator with your questions, to get on the waiting list for that class, or to request a volunteer application.

Counselors help Medicare consumers, their families and caregivers better understand Medicare options by providing information and referrals regarding resources. Counselors will also help Medicare consumers enroll in programs that could assist with health insurance costs and reduce prescription drug costs.

Currently, due to COVID-19, all outreach will be done on a remote platform or over the phone.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact us. Upon a successful background check and the completion of the three-day training class volunteers will receive certification through the Minnesota Board on Aging as a Health Insurance Counselor with the State Health Insurance and Assistance Program (SHIP). Our next volunteer training class will be held in early 2021. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator with your questions, to get on the waiting list for that class, or to request a volunteer application.

Volunteers will receive staff support, guidance, and on-going training as you provide assistance and outreach to seniors.

If you have questions please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at the Senior LinkAge Line at 1-800-333-2433, Ext. 81019.
