We are looking for volunteers who are willing to be trained in Medicare.

May we count on you to become a Senior LinkAge Line volunteer counselor in the Moose Lake, MN area of Minnesota and help people with their Medicare questions?

Counselors help Medicare consumers, their families and caregivers better understand Medicare options by providing information and referrals regarding resources. Counselors will also help Medicare consumers enroll in programs that could assist with health insurance costs and reduce prescription drug costs.

If you are interested in volunteering please contact me. Upon a successful background check and the completion of the three-day training class volunteers will receive certification through the Minnesota Board on Aging as a Health Insurance Counselor with the State Health Insurance and Assistance Program (SHIP). Our next class will be held in early 2018.

Volunteers will receive staff support, guidance, and on-going training as you provide assistance and outreach to seniors.

If you have questions please contact me, Lee Swenson, Volunteer Coordinator with the Senior LinkAge Line at 1-800-333-2433, Ext. 81019.
