AseraCare Hospice is seeking caring, compassionate individuals who would be willing to spend 2-4 hours a month visiting terminally ill patients and their families. Volunteers spend time together with patients and families simply by accompanying them during their final journey. Some activities may include reading, playing games, and talking. Companions offer patients healing by practicing a calming presence, deep compassion, and generous listening. Volunteers play an important role in providing social support and decreasing isolation.
Volunteers are provided free training and can work flexible hours that suit individual schedules. Volunteer training can be completed in Madison.
