WD Wood Park is located just below I-580 north of Fruitvale Avenue at 2920 McKillop Road. We have tools and some snacks. It helps if you bring your own water bottle. We’ll have gallons of water available to re-fill bottles. We also suggest wearing long sleeves to prevent scratches while working. Formed in 1996, the Friends of Sausal Creek is a group of community members protecting Sausal Creek at a grassroots level. The Friends recognize that citizen participation, from residents to decision-makers, teachers, and students, is critical for building long-term commitment to protecting Sausal Creek as a natural resource for the greater Oakland community.
Description
Friends of Sausal Creek is a volunteer-based, nonprofit, community organization dedicated to promoting awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of Oakland’s Sausal Creek Watershed, which drains to the San Francisco Bay. Formed in 1996, the Friends recognize that citizen participation-from residents to decision-makers, teachers, and students-is critical for building a long-term commitment to protecting Sausal Creek as a natural resource for the greater Oakland community.
