Therapeutic Riding Program

Become a Therapeutic Riding Program volunteer! Haku Baldwin Center is in need of volunteers for our Therapeutic Riding Program (TRP), to walk alongside child riders during sessions, lead horses, and help with barn-related tasks. Our volunteers, instructors, and gentle horses enable us to provide regular therapeutic horseback riding sessions to children with special needs at our center in Makawao. Riders learn balance, coordination, improved posture, strength, and flexibility. As new challenges are met and fears are conquered, you will witness the amazing bond between humans and animals. Your gift of time helps spirits soar. Become a part of our team today!

Two days are open for volunteers: Monday and Tuesday, from 1:45 p.m - 4:45 p.m. No experience necessary as all training is provided, though some experience with horses is always appreciated.

NOTE: Minimum age to volunteer is 16. Volunteers under 18 need a parent or guardian's signature on application forms.
