Join us on Saturday, September 7th, 2019 for a great morning of fun, health, community, personal achievement, and friendly competition! The Winning the Battles In Your Mind Sickle Cell Anemia/5k is a premier running event!

The Awesome courses start and finish in Dekalb County's beautiful Wade Walker Park. The mission of the 5K Walk/Run is to improve the quality of life for children with Sickle Cell and their families by providing financial support.

Positions needed:

• Registration

Registration Volunteers will help prepare participants for the actual event. Assist participants in getting registered and answering any questions they may have before the race! Help our walkers/runners to start on the right foot!!

• Water distribution -

Water stops provide an opportunity to grab water quickly and continue on with their race. Water stop volunteers will arrive before the race starts to set up the water station (pour water and organize the cups so that runners can easily grab one), distribute cups to the runners as they pass by, and clean up the area after the last runner has passed.

• Finish line -

Guide participants through the Finish Line, provide water to finishers, and keep traffic moving. Must be enthusiastic and able to speak loudly!

• Vendor/Food -

Food Volunteers will distribute food to the runners in the finish line and replenish food, as needed.

• Course Marshal -

Course Marshals are key! We need your help ensure race participants and the general public are aware of course direction and active status of the race. Cheer the participants along as they make their way to the finish line!
