As part of our continuing endeavor to foster the creativity and imagination of young people, the Rebecca Everlene Trust Company will soon host the "Mad Hatter’s Writing Workshop". Childhood should represent a time of magic and wonder for children; a time where no idea is too outlandish or fantastical. On this occasion, we invite children to let go of their boundaries and join the ranks of Lewis Carroll, Roald Dahl, and J.R.R Tolkien; to create magical worlds out of nothing more than mere words. The event, tentatively set for 08/12/2017, will be presented as a field trip opportunity for the students, and can be made possible with your help.

With the stage set for this workshop to trump the size of any collaborative writing project Chicago has ever seen, we hope to gain your support for the cause. We need to develop a team of 30 individuals to complete an outreach project consisting of about 4600 emails and 4000 phone calls. This project will take about 2 months to complete--60 days--which means a single person would be asked to send out 3 emails a day, and make 3 phone calls per day. If you would like to take on a bigger portion of the project, we would be super excited, but it isn’t required. The hope for the event is to have some light-hearted fun with long lasting creative benefits for both the children, as well as the adults involved.

The activities for the day are as follows:

• Creation of fantasy costume (silly hat included)
• Collaborative brainstorming sessions
• Collaborative storytelling
• Artistic representation of the fantasy (drawings, sketches, etc.)

The best and most imaginative sentences will be compiled into a story all its own, and that story will be published by the Jeune Hope Content Group for the world to see. The young authors will of course be acknowledged for all of their hard work and receive full credit. A contribution from your organization could help us make this dream event a reality, and for that, we would always be grateful.
