ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Texas Gulf Coast Region

PLACEMENT PURPOSE
In training to respond to Mass Care events in one or more of the following activities: Sheltering, Feeding, Bulk Distribution, Safe and Well Linking and Shelter Partner Development Team

OPEN TIME DAYS

2-4 hours a month, flexible hours Varies and increases during active disaster response. Up to 12 hours a day Two week deployment opportunities available, but not required, during national large scale events

  • Disaster Cycle Services: An Overview (Online)
  • Mass Care: An Overview
Additional Training Depends on Specialty Track:
  • Shelter Fundamentals (Online)
  • Serving People with Functional and Access Needs in Shelters (Online)
  • Shelter Fundamentals Exercise (In Person)
  • Feeding Fundamentals (Online)
  • Bulk Distribution (Online)
  • Basic Food Safety (Online)
  • Safe and Well Linking Fundamentals (Online)
  • Psychological First Aid (In Person)
