Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
Are you a United States Soldier or a Veteran of the U.S. Military? Are you interested in helping fellow Veterans? You are, truly, needed! Read more about "the Mission":
Nobody understands the concerns of a United States Veteran more than a fellow Veteran or Active Duty Military Personnel. That is why Heartland Hospice has developed the Vets-to-Vets Volunteer Program, in which Volunteers with similar backgrounds can provide companionship Friendly Visits and Bedside Vigil to U.S. Military Veteran Patients.
Heartland Hospice is a proud Level 3 Member of the We Honor Veterans Program, a National Campaign developed by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Hospice & Palliative Care Organization.
