Little Village READS is a literacy initiative that pairs reading tutors with 1st through 3rd-grade students in the Little Village community. All of the students have been referred by their teachers for extra help outside the classroom, and they meet with tutors to work on building their reading skills. Tutors engage students in free reading, interactive games, and fun literacy activities.
Fall Programming runs from September 09 through December 04 from 2:30-5:00pm (latest arrival 3:00PM). Monday through Thursdays. We are looking for volunteers who are able to commit to at least one day a week.
If you are interested in being a tutor, we would love to hear from you! This is an excellent opportunity to gain some hands-on experience working with a fantastic group of kids.
