Event Planner The marketing practice of CLASS is looking for an volunteer Event Planner to join our highly professional and dynamic team. This position is responsible for managing pre-event and onsite coordination of event logistics, budget expenditures, and supplier/vendor services for CLASS and some of our clients. Additional duties include maintaining the accuracy of online and print promotions, ensuring shipment of warehouse inventory, and coordinating event value-adds. Minimum Requirements A minimum of two years meeting/event/conference planning experience Strong project management skills ,able to create and monitor timelines, identify and overcome delays, enlist participation from others to complete benchmarks on time, consistently operate within budgetary constraints and considerations Ability to handle conflicting priorities and make decisions quickly and independently Highly detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-starter who takes initiative, learns quickly, and works with minimal supervision Proficiency with computer systems, Excel, Word, and contact management systems Familiar with, or able to quickly learn about, high tech communities, issues and players Familiarity with, or able to quickly learn about, HTML, XHTML and CS system Knowledge of the travel industry and the convention visitors industry is a plus Personable and diplomatic Familiar with entertainment, educational, public arts, and nonprofit subscription and public interest group events
