The Tremble Clefs Choral Group is looking for a responsible, compassionate volunteer to help each week with set up, greeting program participants, singing, and serving refreshments during break.

The JF&CS Okonow Parkinson’s Family Support program specializes in helping families live as fully as possible with the many challenges of Parkinson’s disease (PD).

To address the important function of voice, a choral program is offered and activities are structured so that everyone can participate at his or her own level. People with Parkinson’s and their care partners value these activities for the physical benefits, the strategies for symptom management that are offered, and they enjoy being part of a caring and supportive community.

The Choral Group takes place on Mondays from 10:30 a.m. - noon in Newton. No experience is required -- volunteers are expected to actively participate during rehearsals.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Available on Mondays, 10.30 a.m. - noon
  • Commit to volunteering on a weekly basis for a minimum of six months
  • Provide a minimum of two references
  • Undergo a CORI check

About Jewish Family & Children's Service

Location:

1430 Main Street, Waltham, MA 02451, US

Mission Statement

Jewish Family & Children's Service (JF&CS) cares for individuals and families by providing exceptional human service and health care programs, guided by Jewish traditions of social responsibility, compassion, and respect for all members of the community.

Description

For almost 150 years, Jewish Family & Children's Service has been the safety net for over 30,000 individuals and families in 80 Greater Boston communities. Since its inception, the focus of JF&CS has been to support our friends and neighbors through difficult life transitions and times of personal crisis, offering programs and services for every stage of life.

JF&CS is especially responsive to the needs of vulnerable members of our community: newborns and their parents, individuals with development disabilities or persistent mental illness, families at risk and the frail elderly. What makes our continuum of programs unique is our steadfast dedication to caring not only for the physical and economic health of individuals and families, but also for their emotional and spiritual well-being.

JF&CS is always ready to respond, no matter how difficult the problem and regardless of a person's background or ability to pay.
